This marks my third hiking adventure with the Chiang Mai “Walk and Talk” hiking Facebook group, and every expedition with this community has been a thrilling exploration of Chiang Mai’s natural wonders. On this occasion, our journey took us from Ban Mai Viewpoint, often referred to as Mon Cham, to the enchanting Mae Sa Waterfall. The day unfolded into a mesmerizing tapestry of breathtaking vistas, the melodious sounds of cascading waterfalls, and ample opportunities to capture the stunning landscapes through the lens of my camera. This post “Captivating Chiang Mai Hike: Mon Cham to Mae Sa Waterfall” summarizes my experience of this adventure.
A Scenic Trek to Cherish
Our adventure commenced at the captivating Ban Mai Viewpoint in Mon Cham, a location renowned for its panoramic views of Chiang Mai‘s lush landscapes. For photography enthusiasts like myself, this was an absolute treat. I made sure to pack my camera gear to seize the stunning natural beauty that surrounded us.
As we advanced towards the mesmerizing Mae Sa Waterfall, we had a choice to enter the park, a decision influenced by the group’s consensus. It’s worth noting that there’s an entrance fee of 200 baht for non-Thai visitors, which is a nominal price to pay for the treasure trove of natural beauty that awaits.
Considering the length and intensity of the trail, it was advisable that young children did not participate. However, exceptions were made on a case-by-case basis. If you’re planning to embark on such a hike with a group, I recommend reaching out to the organizers beforehand to discuss your specific situation.
Our journey kicked off early in the morning at 7:30 AM, as we assembled near Maya shopping mall. To ensure seamless transportation, a red truck was arranged to ferry us to and from our designated hiking area, a convenient service for a fee of 200 Baht.
